1. Why do we lift our hands?

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD (Psalm 134:2).

I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing (1 Timothy 2:8).

2. Why does the whole congregation pray at once for specific needs?

When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them"(Acts 4:24).

3. Why do we anoint with oil and pray for the sick?

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven (James 5:14-15).

..They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well (Mark 16:18).

4. Why do we speak in tongues and have interpretation of tongues?

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind (1 Corinthians 14:14,15).

Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues (1 Corinthians 14:39).

If anyone speaks in a tongue, two — or at the most three — should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret (1 Corinthians 14:27).

Dunamis began on the 14th of July 2002 in Belmont, Hardwick Smith Lounge, Lower Hutt.

6. How do you become a member of Dunamis Church?

Dunamis Church does not have a formal membership process. If you are a regular attendee, and have filled in a membership form then you are considered a member.

Dunamis Church is a multicultural, Foursquare Gospel Church focused on making a positive impact upon the family, community, city and the nation. We help people to grow in faith and discover God's plan for their lives. We are also dedicated to serve in the spirit of excellence with integrity, love and compassion for our community, nation and the world.

8. How do I get to the church?

Dunamis Church is located in Lower Hutt on 45 knights Road, Westfield Towers.

9. What is appropriate to wear to church?

Come as you are! The dress ranges from casual to professional.

10. Do you have ministry for children?

Yes we do, We are dedicated to seeing Children develop an active faith toward God and His Word as well as enjoy coming to the House of God.

11. Do you have Nursery?

Yes we do have a nursery, its for children age from 0-5 years old, parents are also allowed to sit with their children at the back with toys and be a part of the service.

Nursing mother's can use the Nursery to feed their babies or at the back of the church. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge, hot water and milk.
